Why

//rebeccataylortherapy.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/why-choose-counselling.jpg

Why Choose Therapy?

There are many reasons for seeking counselling such as moments of crisis or a simple desire for self exploration, understanding and personal growth.

Life can be difficult and confusing and our experiences and circumstances can significantly impact our lives. We can become stuck in ways of thinking, feeling and behaving so having a professional to help us recognise and understand these patterns can be hugely beneficial for change and growth.

In today's busy world we don't often get fully seen or heard or have the time to explore and reflect on how we are feeling. We look after our physical health but can often neglect our emotional and mental health. I believe there is huge benefit in making time and space for our mental wellbeing. Counselling facilitates change and growth, helping you to find new perspectives.

I am happy to answer any questions or queries that you may have and offer a free 30 minute initial telephone or video consultation.

About me

Registered counsellor and therapist

I am a qualified counsellor and therapist and a registered member of the British Association for Counsellors & Psychotherapists (BACP register number: 379714). I hold a BA Hons (First Class) in counselling studies, a diploma in person centred therapy and am a qualified couples counsellor and supervisor.

I work in private practice from my therapy room in Newquay and for a charity supporting survivors of domestic abuse and sexual violence. I have worked with individuals from all walks of life and with a range of presenting issues. Before training to become a counsellor I worked within the NHS acute psychiatric wards supporting young people and adults experiencing acute mental health problems. I understand the complexities and difficulties that life can bring and what a big step it can be to reach out and begin your therapy journey.

I offer face to face appointments from my room in Pentire, Newquay as well as online, telephone and walk and talk appointments.

A person centred, humanistic counsellor can provide you with a professional, safe and therapeutic space to explore what is happening in your life.
